The University of Northampton is the lead partner in Understanding Agency and Resistance Strategies (UNARS), a multinational project which aims to develop a better understanding of children in situations of domestic abuse.  Led by Dr Jane Callaghan with the Centre for Children and Youth, this project brings together expertise from both psychology and health.

The research team from the UK, Italy, Spain and Greece, are exploring the complexities of young people's ex‚Äčperiences of domestic violence and the creative and resilient strategies children deploy to cope with these situations.  Research undertaken by the team aims to contribute to the protection of children, providing guidance to professionals so they can best support them.
