Professionals' Views: The context of domestic abuse services for children & young people

Young people who live with domestic abuse are often in contact with multiple services and professionals.  Professionals play an important role in helping young people to understand the abuse that has occurred in their family, and in helping them to understand the impact of that abuse on their sense of self, and their relationships.

The UNARS project has conducted focus groups with professionals in each partner country, to explore how they see and work with young people in situations of domestic abuse.  We are interested in how they talk about and understand children's experiences, and in their understanding of children's capacity for agency and resilience.
